On Monday 7 April, the Prime Minister announced that the Government and the Wellcome Trust will invest up to £600 million to create a new Health Data Research Service. This groundbreaking initiative will deliver significant health benefits to the UK public and patients.
Dr Phil Hyde, Paediatric Intensive Care Consultant at University Hospital Southampton and Chief Investigator for PRANA, said:
“This new investment into life sciences is hugely welcomed by our team and the Wessex SDE that underpins our work. We hope that this investment into the life sciences sector will help accelerate key projects, like PRANA, to deliver life changing research that can help to reduce and prevent serious injury and deaths.”
