Are you a skilled and motivated Data Scientist looking for an exciting new role?

The University of Southampton’s Clinical Informatics Research Unit (CIRU) is seeking a talented and ambitious Post Graduate Data Scientist to drive forward an innovative and impactful project.
In this role, you’ll join the AXIS (Access eXtract and Integrate Safe Data) group and support the development of PRANA — the Pre-hospital Research and Audit Network. PRANA is creating a pioneering, end-to-end research-ready database that links pre-hospital critical care with patient outcomes and integrates external data like traffic collision records. This unique research platform promises to uncover life‑saving patterns in emergency medicine and inform future government policy.
We’re looking for someone with a robust background in data science, especially in:
Building and maintaining complex data pipelines
Integrating diverse datasets across multiple organisations
Establishing scalable systems for reliable data flow into centralised systems.
This is more than just a data role — it’s a chance to directly contribute to pioneering research that links emergency care with public health and safety.
Why Apply?
Impact-driven: Your work will support timely research with real-world influence on emergency medicine
Innovative environment: Join a growing, dynamic team at CIRU dedicated to transformative health data solutions
Collaborative and cross-sectoral: Work across healthcare and external databases to create a comprehensive, integrated data ecosystem.
