The PRANA Registry is hosted on the Wessex Secure Data Environment (Wessex SDE), which is built to the highest standards of security and privacy. With robust controls in place, the SDE ensures that all research projects contribute high-quality evidence for the benefit of the public and the NHS.
We’re pleased to announce that the Wessex SDE’s Data Access Committee (DAC) has approved two new research studies to use PRANA data:
Data Sustains Life (DSL): This study will link healthcare data from PRANA with government-funded road safety data managed by TRL. The aim is to improve data quality to support preventive strategies aligned with the ‘Vision Zero’ goal of eliminating traffic fatalities.
Linking Police and Health Data on Road Collisions (LPHD): This project will explore how newly linked PRANA data can improve understanding of the true number and clinical outcomes of road collisions across Great Britain.
With DAC approval granted, the SDE will now carry out the necessary organisational and researcher validations so that both projects can begin work within the secure environment.
